Tbilisi (GBC) – According to the Galt&Taggart, automobile imports increased 73.1% y/y and 18.0% y/y in 2022, driven by robust external and domestic demand.

Last year, 154,153 units of light vehicles worth $1.7 billion were imported into Georgia.

2. Japan - 13,966 units worth $297.2 million, which is 17.5% of auto imports.

3. Germany - 13,951 units worth $186.2 million, which is 11% of auto imports.

In 2022, re-exports of passenger cars will double due to increased demand from both traditional and Eurasian Union countries.

In 2022, automobiles re-exports amounted to 79,887 units of $903.8 million, which was 97% more than in 2021 (2021: 63,860 units of $456.6 million).
