Tbilisi (GBC) - According to updated statistics (update 01.01.2024), the ratio of deposits to GDP is up to 60.5%, loans - up to 63%.

According to the NBG, there is a slight change in the third quarter. In annual terms, the share of deposits has decreased, while the share of loan portfolio has increased.

The ratio of monetary aggregates to GDP was the highest in the post-mandemic period, in the spring of 2021, when banking sector assets exceeded GDP by 17%. Then, in the spring of 2021, the ratio of deposits was up to 74%, and the ratio of loans exceeded 78%.
