Tbilisi (GBC) - According to statistical data of NBG, as of October, a total of 15 commercial banks are operating in Georgia (10M2022 – 14 banks). The number of their branches is 145, which has increased by 6 units compared to the figures of the previous year.

According to the NBG, 755 service centers of commercial banks are operating in the country today. Their number, compared to the data of the previous year, has decreased by 11 units.

The number of microfinance organizations and lending entities in the country starts to decrease from 2017 (5M2017 – 88 units). Currently, 31 microfinance organizations are registered in Georgia. On the other hand, compared to the previous year, the number of lending entities decreased by 10 units and currently amounts to 167 units (number of head offices).

One of the most noticeable changes is the number of currency exchange booths, which increased by 52 units compared to the previous year. Currently, there are 724 currency exchange booths across the country, which include both head offices and branches.

After 2020, the number of stock exchanges (2), insurance companies (18), and pension agencies and pension schemes (5) remains unchanged.
