Tbilisi (GBC) – Giorgi Sakhokia has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Geka Geladze. The order was issued by Irakli Kobakhidze on November 10. Another order by Kobakhidze is dated the same day, according to which Giorgi Butkhuzi was dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

Based on the first paragraph of Article 24 of the Law of Georgia “On the Structure, Powers and Rules of Activity of the Government of Georgia”, Giorgi Sakhokia is hereby appointed as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia”, the order reads.

Biography of Giorgi Sakhokia:

2001-2007 – Lawyer at Land Software Design LLC, rank of Police Lieutenant;

2007-2012 – Various managerial positions at Silkneti JSC;

2013-2014 – Head of the Internal Audit Service of the LEPL Service Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice;

2014-2015 – Deputy Head of the Administration (Department) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia;

2015 – Deputy Head of the Public Information Division of the Administration (Department) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia;

2015-2018 – Head of the Public Information Division of the Administration (Department) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia;

2018-2019 – Head of the Administration (Department) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia;

2019-2020 – Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Georgia;

2020-2021 – Deputy Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia;

2021 – State Representative in Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri Municipalities;

2021-2025 – LEPL State Care and Assistance Agency for Victims and Sufferers of Trafficking, Advisor to the Director;

2025 – Director of LEPL “Defense Volunteer” of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia;
