Tbilisi (GBC) - “When your employee’s contract is about to expire, you decide whether you need them or if they are fulfilling their job duties at the appropriate level,” said the Tbilisi Mayor in a conversation with the media, addressing the issue of employees who have been dismissed from the Tbilisi City Hall.

As Kakha Kaladze noted, it is nonsensical to claim employees are being dismissed for political reasons, since people with different political views currently work in the mayor’s office.

“It’s completely absurd to suggest we are dismissing employees politically. We have begun reorganization in the city hall, and more people, who are not fulfilling their duties and responsibilities, will be fired. Some employees’ contracts have simply expired.

Leadership makes decisions based on whether an employee is needed and performs at a satisfactory level. I can provide many examples of people who had or still have different political views, even signed petitions, yet continue working normally in Tbilisi City Hall,” Kaladze stated.
