Tbilisi (GBC) - Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili, speaking at the ceremony dedicated to the International Customs Day, said that it is necessary to replace business processes with automated processes as much as possible by using artificial intelligence.

As he noted, during the implementation of customs formalities, the implemented standards of electronic data exchange played a positive role in the readiness of the Georgian customs during the pandemic period, when instead of physically submitting documents, the practice of submitting data electronically became mandatory.

"The aforementioned led to the smooth implementation of customs procedures during the pandemic. This was only the beginning of the modernization road leading to the strike. Modern requirements put us in front of more and more complex tasks. It is necessary to replace business processes as much as possible with automated processes, obviously using artificial intelligence. Today we present such an interesting project - the first digital customs officer, and I hope that he will successfully cope with the assigned tasks", said the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili.
