Tbilisi (GBC) - Passenger rail traffic between Azerbaijan and Georgia may resume from May 1, 2025.

Azerbaijani media reported this, citing the Georgian Ministry of Economy.

The issue was discussed in Tbilisi on Tuesday during a meeting between Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.

Azerbaijan suspended passenger rail traffic with Georgia amid the nationwide quarantine imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic and has not resumed it yet. Quarantine in Azerbaijan is still in effect at all land border in the country.
