Tbilisi (GBC) - The Nation Bank of Georgia’s international foreign exchange reserves have started to increase, but have only just surpassed the October 2022 level.
After a $627 million decline in October, foreign exchange reserves increased by $400 million in November. The annual trend is still negative, but the ratio has improved. Last month it was - 20%Y.Y. As of 1.12.24, the annual decline is 19.5 percent.
The NBG announced the replenishment of reserves on November 25. Later, in parliament, Acting President Natia Turnava announced the November $124 million purchase, while presenting the main directions of monetary policy.
As of 01.01.2025, the country's reserve assets exceed $4.447 billion, including gold worth of up to $599 million (01.12.2024 - $608 million. 01.11. 2024 - $627.4 million).
