Tbilisi (GBC) – Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of Georgia’s ruling party and former Prime Minister, has been included in the 2025 list of “Press Freedom Predators” published by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).

They include those who have been relentlessly persecuting the media for years, the Chinese Communist Party and its leader, Xi Jinping, Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman, Vladimir Putin, and Alexander Lukashenko. All of them have once again demonstrated their relentless persecution of journalists and the media in 2025…
As they slander the media or subject it to unlawful judicial pressure, Brendan Carr, the chairman of the United States Federal Communications Commission, Cambodia’s Deputy Attorney General, Seng Heang, and Georgian billionaire oligarch and former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is on the 2025 Predators List,” the statement said.
The list features 34 political and business figures accused of undermining media freedom through censorship, intimidation, or manipulation of information. Other names on the list include Vladimir Putin, Alexander Lukashenko, Ilham Aliyev, Ali Khamenei, Nicolas Maduro, and Viktor Orbán.
