Tbilisi (GBC) – Mikheil Kavelashvili will be the presidential candidate of Georgia. The announcement about the relevant decision of the Georgian Dream Political Council was made today, November 27, by the Honorary Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, at a briefing held at the party office.
The Georgian Dream discussed the presidential candidate this morning, first in the format of a meeting of the Political Council, and then in the format of a majority meeting.
For your information, the presidential elections of Georgia are scheduled for December 14, and the inauguration is on December 29. This year, the president will be elected indirectly for the first time by an electoral college consisting of 300 members.

- Since 2020, he has been a member of the 10th convocation of the Parliament of Georgia (Tbilisi Nadzaladevi majoritarian MP), electoral bloc: "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia".
- On June 28, 2022, he left the Georgian Dream along with Sozar Subari and Dimitri Khundadze, which, according to the party, was caused by disagreements over the issue of public information.
