Tbilisi (GBC) - Georgia’s National Tourism Administration and a number of companies involved in the industry showcased the country’s potential at BIT Milano, the largest tourism fair in Italy, between Sunday and Tuesday.

The Administration said on Wednesday it had hosted a stand introducing fair visitors - with over 65,000 flocking to the three-day event - to the country’s tourism products.

It also said meetings for exploring avenues for future cooperation were held with representatives of international companies at the event. Over 500 tourism companies and organisations were involved in presentations and networking at the fair.

In the promotion effort, the national body was also joined by the tourism department of the western Georgian region of Adjara.

BIT Milano has been hosted since the early 1980s in Milan, bringing together experts in the industry and the general public at Fiera Milano fairgrounds in the city.
