Tbilisi (GBC) - Based on preliminary estimates the nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to 91 891.8 million GEL in 2024, up by 13.6 percent YoY, while the real growth of GDP increased by 9.4 percent. In 2024 GDP deflator percentage change equaled 3.8 percent YoY, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.
The largest shares of GDP by activity are held by Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (15.2 percent) and real estate activities (9.9 percent), followed by Manufacturing (9.3 percent), Construction (8.4 percent), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (7.0 percent), Information and communication (6.4 percent), Agriculture, forestry and fishing (6.2 percent), Transportation and storage (5.9 percent), Financial and insurance activities (5.2 percent).
In 2024, real growth was registered in Information and communication (24.3 percent), Education (29.1 percent), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (17.9 percent), Construction (14.2 percent), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (6.7 percent) and Financial and insurance activities (14.9 percent).
A decrease in the real value-added was recorded in Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-8.3 percent).
