Tbilisi (GBC) - In the IV quarter of 2022, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 21.2 percent (309.9 GEL) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to 1 773.7 GEL.

According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:

• Information and communication – GEL 3 672.6 (increased by 61.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year)

• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 2 726.7 (increased by 12.1 percent)

• Construction – GEL  2 535.8 (increased by 14.8 percent)

• Professional, scientific and technical activities – GEL 2 455.1 (increased by 15.1 percent)

In the IV quarter of 2022, the average earnings equaled to 1 411.7 GEL for women, while 2 123.2 Gel for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to 258.0 Gel (22.4%) for women and 355.3 GEL (20.1%) for men. In most sectors of economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.

In the IV quarter of 2022, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by 313.2 GEL (19.6%) and equaled 1 911.1 GEL. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in Information and communication (3 773.6 GEL, increased by 64.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Arts, entertainment and recreation activities (2 959.1 GEL, increased by 18.3 percent).
