Tbilisi (GBC) - The exports of services of Georgia amounted to USD 7 053.8 million in 2023, 23.7 percent higher to the data of 2022, - according to the National Statistics office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, the imports equaled USD 3 618.9 million accordingly, it is 19.5 percent higher than the previous year. The positive trade balance was USD 3 434.8 million, that is 28.4 percent higher than the trade balance of 2022.
In 2023 travel reclaimed the first place in the list of top export types of services, equaling USD 4 125.3 million with 58.5 percent of total exports. The exports of transport services totaled USD 1 476.3 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 20.9 percent. The telecommunications, computer and information services occupied the third place standing at USD 892.0 million and constituting 12.6 percent of the total exports.
The top types of services by imports in 2023 were transport services whose imports equaled USD 2 232.0 million (61.7 percent of the total imports). Travel followed in the list with USD 503.7 million (13.9 percent of imports). Other business services were third in the list with USD 232.0 million (6.4 percent of imports).
In 2023, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of services of Georgia amounted to 61.1 percent. The largest exporters were Russia (USD 1 022.3 million), Türkiye (USD 958.1 million) and United States (USD 423.8 million).
In 2023, the share of the top ten trading partners by imports of services of Georgia amounted to 57.7 percent. The largest importers were Russia (USD 534.2 million), Türkiye (USD 521.4 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 206.9 million).
